Program Format

The TCLoc master’s program consists of online seminars, materials, and tasks provided entirely in English by our instructors on Moodle, a distance-learning platform. The courses take the form of guided work with video files or written instructions and assignments to be uploaded on the platform. TCLoc instructors also host real-time conferences regularly, allowing students to share and discuss any questions or ideas they may have. These conferences are always recorded and made available to students who could not attend them.

In addition, there are two, non-mandatory on-campus meetings in Strasbourg scheduled over the course of the academic year. These meetings contribute to the dynamic and collaborative spirit of the program and give students the opportunity to meet other members of the TCLoc community.

TCLoc is designed to be a flexible program adapted to working professionals, so we offer four different study options to suit a variety of schedules.

study options for TCLoc Master's Degree: Accelerated Option (12 months-January to January), semi-accelerated option A (17 months-January to June), semi-accelerated option B (17 months-July to June), extended option (24 months-January to January)

TCLoc’s Flexible Program Options

Accelerated Option — 12 months (January intake only)

This is the most intense study option. During these 12 months, you will complete all the program’s coursework, including writing a thesis and passing the tekom certification. We recommend this option if you already have this certification or if you are able to dedicate a great amount of time to your studies.

Semi-Accelerated Option A — 17 months (January intake)

With this option, you have the same amount of coursework as the accelerated option, but you have five more months to complete it. The estimated time investment for this option is 15-20 hours per week. The last five months are dedicated to writing the thesis and passing the tekom certification.

Semi-Accelerated Option B — 17 months (July intake)

This option is similar to the previous one, except that you start your studies in July of the preceding year. This gives you the possibility to complete the tekom certification before starting the rest of the courses. We recommend this option the most as it allows you to fully dedicate yourself to each part of the program: the certification, the courses, and the thesis.

Extended Option — 24 months (January intake only)

With this option, you have 24 months to complete the aforementioned coursework. If you aren’t able to dedicate much time to the program then it might be the best choice for you.
