Our students

Translators. Technical writers. Language experts. All TCLoc students. Our students are highly qualified, hard-working and focused individuals who come from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds..

TCLoc students are multicultural.

TCloc students come from far and wide. From South Korea to Columbia by way of Australia and Jordan, you will find many nationalities represented among our students. Of course, you will also have European classmates from Germany, Spain, Italy, Denmark and of course France!

TCLoc students are always motivated.

There’s no doubt about it, resuming studies after working for a number of years requires great motivation. But don’t let that intimidate you. Every year, TCloc takes in a select number of people who are highly motivated to expand their horizons and take their careers to the next level, just like you!

TCLoc students are united.

Being part of such a unique program not only brings our students, but also our teachers together (we call it the TC-flock). Even though you may have classmates from the opposite side of the world, there is a naturally strong sense of community between our students which is further strengthened by on-campus meetings at different times throughout the academic year.

From the basics of coding, advanced localization, visual communication to project management, the program helped me to acquire valuable knowledge that today empowers me in my daily work.”

I am a certified English teacher, which means I obtained a Master’s degree and completed the CAPES competitive exam. So French is my mother tongue and I speak English fluently.Today I work as a self-employed English teacher for salaried employees. I have been doing this for six years now but I wish to improve my skills for a change of career, that’s why I registered for the TCLoc Course.I believe this course will enable me to gain the technical skills that I lack, in order to work as a Web writer for example.Prior to this course, I have taken a few MOOCs to be prepared (Writing for the Web, Localization Essentials) and I’m still working on the HTML and CSS languages. I also need to work on Computer Aided Translation.I am very curious, very motivated and I love to understand how things work.

My home base is Germany, but I also spent considerable time living in the U.S. and in the Czech Republic. In addition to a Masterʼs Degree in English and Art, I hold a B.A. in Dutch. For a while, I was tempted to pursue a career as a teacher and actually tried it, but it was technical communication that finally got me hooked for good. What I particularly like about this work is that technology-wise, it keeps evolving and always stays exciting, that it covers such a huge range of domains, and that it offers so many opportunities to pursue my interests. I really enjoy working in multicultural environments. I have always loved writing & languages, and I am fascinated with intercultural communication, which is why I was absolutely thrilled to come across this Masterʼs program. I look forward to the opportunity of exploring the wonderful world of TCLoc even further!
